Can you solve this riddle?

Imagine a perfectly square room. There are no windows in this room, so you can not look into the room through a window. There is one door leading into the room. Once you open the door and enter the room, the door shuts behind you and locks you in. Inside the room are three lamps placed in different areas of the room. Each lamp is controlled by a panel of three light switches FOUND on the wall OUTSIDE of the room right next to the door. THERE ARE NO LIGHT SWITCHES INSIDE THE ROOM AND YOU CAN NOT TURN ON OR OFF THE LAMPS FROM INSIDE THE ROOM.
Turning only the light switches on and/or off, what must you do to the light switches to figure out which switch controls which lamp?
A clue is this...How does a blind person know if a light is on?
