Can you solve this riddle?

There was a young and wise princess. Also very active. She loved every sport. One day she was playing basketball by herself. Then suddenly a witch came and kidnapped her. The witch locked her until one spring, the princess yelled, "I'll do anything, just let me go". "Fine!" The witch screamed. "Follow me." The princess followed the witch into a room with one very very very very very small window. The size of a cat door. "Take a good look at this flower." The witch commanded. The princess looked at it, then away. The witch set it on the ground in the middle of the room. The witch used her magic to make a pile of thousands of FAKE flowers that looked exactly the same, felt the same, tasted the same, and smelled the same. "If you get the real flower, I will let you go." The witch said. After a few minutes of thinking, the princess asked if she could open the window. The witch said yes. The princess opened the window, sat and stayed there perfectly still for about an hour or two. Then the princess came up two the witch and said, "I got the right one!" The witch had no choice but to let the princess go. How did the princess know which flower was the real one?
