Free Me!

Riddle

Ten people walk into a smoothie shack to steal money from the cash regester. Two of the people keep fifteen people hostage, three are keeping watch, two are hidden, three are doing the actual stealing. One hostage gets away and calls the cops. All of the thieves hide under the desk with the others. Only five are caught, five others are perfectly fine and not in jail. The ones in jail say: "Free me because there are more to beat me. The cops think they are crazy and put them in the mental house. Once they get there, they change and say "Five gone, we stay. Get them, they stuck." Where are the others and why are they stuck?
