Can you solve this riddle?

A horse is tied to a rope that is five meters long. There is a barn filled with hay 6 meters away yet the horse can get up and eat the hay whenever he wants. How is that possible?

The rope is only tied to the horse. I never said anything about the rope being tied to anything else.
