Can you solve this riddle?

A man walks into a dark room. He can see nothing. Another man walks into the same room. Then a cat comes in. The two men killed the cat instead of each other. Why?

They noticed the cat was high on catnip. So the cat would go wild and bounce off the walls. If anyone touched the walls or roof, the room would sound an alarm and explode.
