Can you solve this riddle?

One Sunday morning a family of three--Susan, dad (Robert), and their daughter (Lilly)--decided to skip church due to Susan coming down with the flu. Robert ran out to fetch the doctor. When he came back, Lilly and Susan were dead. The police, some neighbors, the mail man and a physican were there. Susan and Lily died from gunshots to the head. Everyone at the scene of the crime was being questioned, even Robert. Who killed Lilly and Susan? Why?
