Riddle

There was a boy. He had four friends. Once he had promised them to give each a candy. He said it would take two days. On the second day, he and his father went to a shop. Near the shop was a funfair. He asked his father to buy foru candys while he is at the fair. But his father heard it as two candys. Next day he had a problem. He had only two candys for his friends. Now what can he do?
