Can you solve this riddle?

A guy works at this poison factory. He goes home from work and his wife tells him to go wash his hands before eating so he doesn't die. He washes his hands and the next day he's found dead. How is that possible?

When he went to wash his hands, he opened the tap so the poison went on the tap and when he closed the tap he touched the poison again.
