Can you solve this riddle?

Brett and Barbara are found dead on the floor. There's no wounds whatsoever and the evidence was a cat, some glass, and some water. How did they die?

They're fish. The cat smashed the glass to eat the fish but it's a well known fact that cats don't like water so when a bit of water touched him, he ran away and Brett and Barbara died of suffocation.
