Can you solve this riddle?

There is a naked guy dead lying in the desert. Two miles to the right from is body are his cothes. Two miles to the left of his body is a cliff. In his hand is a piece of straw. How did he die?

He was in a hot air balloon with his friends. They were going to hit the cliff so he took off his cothes to lighten the load. Then they drew straws to see who would jump.
