Can you solve this riddle?

There was a happily married couple living in an apartment. The man kisses his wife good bye and goes to work. But while he is in the elevator, the power goes out and he says, "Oh no! My wife is dead!" Why did he say that?

Because his wife was in a breathing mask ran by power. When the power went out, the machine did too.
